It was a nice cool day to walk on the beach. I took in the sounds of the waves and remembered my mother. She was my family’s guardian angel.
My mom rose early in the morning and faithfully prayed for each of us. Nothing was too big or too small for her to bring to God in prayer. She mentioned each of her children by name, her husband, and many others.

One of my brothers used to joke that any day he forgot to pray before leaving home, he would say, I am covered because Mama Olu (our mom) already prayed for me today.
My mom was a prayerful mom.
I am grateful for the legacy of prayer and love for God that I received from my mom. As I walked on the beach that day praying for my family and others, I gave thanks for my mom’s life.
Mom, I remember you today and bless the Lord. I appreciate your servant’s heart. You modeled for us how to be generous, caring, and show love to family and friends. Your door was always open and you welcomed everyone in our home.
Thank you for giving me and my siblings a great legacy. You faithfully guarded that which the Lord entrusted to you. Psalm 145:4 reminds me of how you shared about God’s faithfulness with everyone.
One generation commends your work to another; they tell of your mighty acts. Psalm 145:4
I pray that I will pass this legacy to my children just as you did for me. I miss you today, but I am confident that we shall meet again with Jesus.
