Praying for our adult children is a topic that’s close to my heart and many parents’ hearts. As moms, the best gift you and I can give our adult children is to continue to love, support, and intercede for them in prayer even as they navigate the complexities of adulthood.
The anchor scripture for our prayer is Proverbs 3:5-6, which says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Prayer for Your Adult Child’s Career and Financial Success
Let us pray
Heavenly Father, we thank you for our adult children. We lift up their careers before you. Guide them, Lord, as they make decisions about their work. Shed your light on their paths with your wisdom. May they find jobs that align with their passions and needs. Give them the courage to face challenges and seize opportunities that they encounter. Help them to see challenges as gifts wrapped in unusual wrappings. We thank you for our adult children’s jobs and careers and trust that you have a purpose for each step they take.
Now, Father, we pray for financial wisdom for our adult children. Proverbs 22:7 says that the rich rule over the poor, and the borrower is a slave to the lender. Lord, instill in our adult children a sense of responsibility and help them manage their resources wisely. Help them understand the value of money and manage it well. Teach them how to save for the future while being generous to those in need.
Lord, you are the ultimate provider for our children. Help our adult children to find contentment in you and avoid unnecessary debt. Lord, whether our adult sons and daughters have much or little, may they trust in your provision. Remind them that their worth is not defined by their bank accounts but by their relationship with you. Strengthen them to rely on your grace and find your peace in every circumstance.
Father, we pray for open doors and opportunities for our adult children. Lead them to the right job interviews, networking connections, and career paths. May they walk through the doors you’ve prepared for them. We trust that you hold the future of our adult sons’ and daughters’ securely in your hands. We thank you for your faithfulness and know that you are the God who opens doors that no man can shut. Thank you for sending Destiny helpers their way. May your peace and provision surround our adult children as they navigate life’s journey. We ask by faith and pray with thanksgiving in the matchless name of Jesus. Amen.
