Today I want to give you hope and encouragement from Exodus 14:19-20.
You’re Never Alone
When the children of Israel left Egypt, God gave Moses specific instructions on where they were to travel between the desert and the sea. If you were looking in from the outside, it looked like the Israelites were lost and confused, like they were wandering around.
But then the Egyptians followed them, and when the Israelites saw the Egyptians, they were terrified and very afraid. They cried out to Moses and asked him. Why did you bring us out here? Didn’t we tell you that you should let us stay in Egypt? You brought us out in the desert to die.
But Moses told them to Stand Still… for today you will see the salvation and the glory of God!
Friend, I’m here to tell you the same thing. Stand still, and you, too, will see the glory of the Lord in your life and in every difficult and challenging situation.
Here is the truth. When you feel alone, you’re actually never alone.
But verses 19-20 of Exodus 14 hold a key for you and me.
Then the angel of God, who had been traveling in front of Israel’s army, withdrew and went behind them. The pillar of cloud also moved from in front and stood behind them, coming between the armies of Egypt and Israel. Throughout the night the cloud brought darkness to the one side and light to the other side; so, neither went near the other all night long. Exodus 14:19-20
While the Israelites thought they were all alone, it wasn’t true. God was with them all the time. Like the Israelites, most times, all you and I can see are the troubles and tough times.
Unknown to the Israelites, the angel of the Lord was traveling in front of them. So as the Egyptians got closer, the angel of the Lord moved to the rear. So did the pillar of cloud. Together they formed a barrier between the Israelites and the Egyptians. And guess what, they shone light… God’s glory over the Israelites and darkness over the Egyptians. They kept them separate, so the Egyptians could never touch the Israelites.
Do you see that although the Israelites felt they were all alone, but it wasn’t true? They were never alone. God was with them… both Jesus (the angel of the Lord) and God (the pillar of cloud) were with them all along. They were never alone, not even for a moment.
Though we may not see him physically, God is always working behind the scenes to make all things good for us and for his glory!
So, friend, know that you are never alone. No matter what you may be going through, God is working all things well for your good. He is for you and working on your behalf. He is working behind the scenes to make all things well.
Always believe that something great is about to happen!
Will you trust him today? Will you trust him with yourself? Will you trust him with your situation… will you trust him with your child? Will you trust him with your marriage? Will you trust him with your finances? Will you trust him with whatever circumstances may be troubling you? You can know this for sure. God is moving mountains for YOU!
You are not alone. God is with you.
Keep trusting… better days are coming soon if only you believe…
He is for you, and he loves you!
