Happy New Year!

Thank you for rolling with me in 2017. Today marks the beginning of another New Year and an opportunity for a fresh start.

My prayer for us in 2018 is that we will draw closer to Jesus and experience deeper intimacy with Him.

I pray that we will receive the perfect knowledge of God’s pleasure over our lives, making us reservoirs of every kind of wisdom and spiritual understanding.

I pray that we will walk in the ways of true righteousness, pleasing God in every good thing we do.

I pray that we will become fruit-bearing branches, yielding to God’s life, and maturing in the rich experience of knowing God in his fullness!

I pray that we will be energized with all of God’s explosive power from the realm of his magnificent glory, and be filled with great hope.

I pray that our hearts can soar with joyful gratitude when we think of how God made us worthy to receive the glorious inheritance freely given to us by living in the light. (Colossians 1:9-12, TPT)

May we look to Jesus as our guide and cling to Him above all else. May Jesus be our Hope in 2018.

I am excited to see how the Lord will lead us this year. My word for 2018 is TRUST. I look forward to all the ways the Lord will take me deeper into trusting him more in 2018. This mug with its inscription, “It is well with my soul”, is a gift from my daughter that is helping me start the year on a good note.

Prayer: Lord, thank you for the New Year! Thank you for loving us. Lead us in 2018 and make your way straight before us. Thank you in advance for guiding and protecting us from any battles we may face in 2018. In Jesus Name, Amen.

  1. You know, I think mine needs to be TRUST, too. My December was very stressful and not like I had planned. My last day at work was the 8th, and I was to have three weeks of rest, relaxation, and just enjoying my time off. Well, you know how it is when you make plans without consulting the Lord… Yeah. :/ I have had the hardest time staying on track with knowing that He has never failed me. That He never will. I have fretted and worried and cried and stressed and then felt ashamed because I was so disobedient in trusting Him. I still have no idea how I am going to make things work with what has fallen in my path, but I DO know that He has always made a way. Why can’t I just keep that in my focus instead of worrying how I am going to get things done? *hangs head* One day at a time is what I am going to be working on. So, yes, my word is TRUST! ?

Thank you for this wonderful encouragement, my sweet Sister! Prayers for me, please, and I always keep you in my heart. I love you! So, so much! *hugs tight* ?

    1. Thanks for sharing your word for 2018. I am sorry to hear about your job. I will pray along with you for guidance and open doors. We can trust the Lord because he promises to never leave us nor forsake us. (Hebrews 13:5)
      Love and hugs. ?

  2. You made me think of several words including faith, believe, affirmation, no fear, and definitely trust. For me the words have to be FAITH and BELIEVE. I need to let go of my rational brain and have profound Faith, and Believe in the ongoing work of the Lord in my life — what has happened, was is happening, and what is to come. I think about Simeon, whom moved by the Holy Spirit just went as fast as he could to the temple to see the Lord because “It had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Messiah.” Luke 2:26. I cannot imagine how excited he was that day after waiting for so long! He had Faith, he Believed, no hesitation, no questions asked. I also think of Mary, the Mother of Jesus, who did not question the ongoing work of the Lord in her life, “Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord’s word to her will be fulfilled.” Luke 1:46. I think this is also about Trust for me! Thank you for sharing your wisdom! zeb
