Welcome to Prayer Treasures Day 11 – Courage
Do you need courage?
Scripture Treasure
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9 NIV
Joshua was appointed by God to lead the children of Israel to Canaan, the Promised land. As they prepared to go, God knew that Joshua would need courage to persevere and face any uncertainties they may encounter in the promised land. So, God encouraged him to be strong and courageous.
He assured Joshua that he will be with him wherever he goes. I imagine Joshua felt strong in his spirit because of God’s powerful assurance of support.
Friend I don’t know about you, but I need courage when I think about the uncertainties of 2020. We are only 11 days into the year, and I am already experiencing some battles.
Friend, we will need courage to face every challenging situation that comes our way this year. We will need courage to persevere, courage to face our fears, courage to push through when we face opposition and afflictions. We will need courage to face uncertainties.
You and I may be fearful of the unknowns we may face this year. The same command that God gave Joshua applies to us. Be Strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
No matter what difficulties we face this year, let’s remember that God is present with us. He is faithful to his promises. He will see us through.
How will you rely on God’s promise to see you through any uncertainties in 2020?
Memorize and meditate on Joshua 1:9. Pray and ask God to give you courage.
