Scripture Treasure
Kind words are like honey—
sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Proverbs 16:24 NLT
When I was a teenager, I tried out for the choir. One day, the choirmaster yelled angrily, who is that croaky voice back there? You are not in tune. He called me out. I left the audition discouraged and his words and angry voice played in my head for a long time.
From then on, I became self-conscious about singing and I rarely sang in public even at church.
It took years to recognize that I might not be a good singer, but I can make a joyful noise to the Lord.
Friend, are your words pleasant, kind, gracious, and winsome?
Your words matter!
It is not only what you say, but how you say it.
You and I are influencers. If we want to influence others for good, we need the wisdom to choose our words wisely, watch our tone and how we come across.
Words from a heart overflowing with wisdom bring healing to the soul.
Who will you encourage today with life-giving words?
