Scripture Treasure
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. Colossians 1:9 ESV
How do you know God’s heart and will?
Last summer, I planted a tomato plant in a pot on my porch. My expectation was that the plant would be healthy, grow, and bear fruit.
God’s plan is that you and I will be healthy sons and daughters who continue to grow in spiritual wisdom and understanding and bear beautiful fruit. But often, we approach God with requests they may not align with his will for us.
How do you know God will for your situation?
Pray, ask him to show you what is on his heart for you.
Then wait patiently.
Wait in prayer.
Meditate on his word.
Wait in worship.
Wait in silence.
Be open to what he shows you and obey. Waiting patiently gives God the opportunity to show you where he is at work so you can join him there.
Friend, God’s will often involve calling us out of our comfort zone. Praying to know God’s will is a radical prayer.
If you pray to know his will, be ready for an adventure like no other. Surrender yourself to God and watch him work through you in mighty ways.
