Friend, how are you holding on as we continue to weather this storm?
If you are feeling some low-level anxiety or emotional fatigue, I understand. I had not realized how this pandemic was affecting emotionally. Storms that drag on and on can leave us feeling fatigued and anxious. So, what do we do with these feelings?
Healing Balm: 3 Simple tips to calm an anxious heart.
- Journal about your feelings
- Read scripture and find a verse or passage to anchor your soul.
- Write a prayer from the verse or passage.
Overcoming anxiety is a process that takes time, so repeat these steps as often as you need.
Let us read Psalm 23 and pray through the verses to comfort our souls.
The Eternal is my shepherd, He cares for me always.
He provides me rest in rich, green fields beside streams of refreshing water.
He soothes my fears; He makes me whole again,
steering me off worn, hard paths to roads where truth and righteousness echo His name.
Even in the unending shadows of death’s darkness, I am not overcome by fear.
Because You are with me in those dark moments, near with Your protection and guidance, I am comforted.
You spread out a table before me, provisions in the midst of attack from my enemies; You care for all my needs, anointing my head with soothing, fragrant oil, filling my cup again and again with Your grace.
Certainly, Your faithful protection and loving provision will pursue me where I go, always, everywhere. I will always be with the Eternal, in Your house forever.
Psalm 23 (Voice)
Lord, you are my shepherd. You provide all that I need and more. I trust you with my life and release my cares about my family, relationships, job, financial situations, economy, and health.
When these anxieties create chaos within me, your presence calms my soul. I am at rest because you hold my hand and lead me by lush green pastures and quiet flowing streams. You open my eyes to see your beauty in nature. You nudge me to trust you as you lead me along the path. Even though there is a lot of uncertainty, fear, and frustration at this time, I will fear no evil because you are ever so near. Your presence gives me confidence.
Thank you that I can count on your love, goodness, and mercy to flow over me on the good days and on bad days. Thank you for your comfort that strengthens me and brings joy to my soul. In Jesus Name. Amen.
