“You Are the God who sees me”

When I was a young girl, I used to love going to the local community pool with my brother to swim. It was one of my favorite activities during the hot summer days in central North Carolina. Not only did I enjoy swimming and meeting other kids at the pool, but I also loved diving. It was an exercise of precision and grace all at the same time. I would practice over and over trying to get my form just right so my body would bend and straighten with perfect timing so as not to tumble on top of the water but gracefully glide into the pool creating as little splash as possible.

Sometimes my dad would come on a Saturday when he didn’t have to work and just hang out with us. After he would swim for a while he would sit on the edge of the pool by the diving board and just watch. When it was my turn for mounting the board, I inevitably would call out, “Daddy, look at me, look at me” waiting until I got his full attention before I made my dive. The minute my head would surface from the water the questions would come, “how did I do, were my legs straight, did I keep my feet together and toes pointed?”

Each dive was an opportunity to better my performance with more grace and strength and another chance to get my dad to look at me. He was often busy working, taking care of the house and doing what fathers must do to support their families, for which I am very grateful. But, it wasn’t very often that I had the opportunity to “perform” before him and receive his affirmations.

Many years have passed and now that I am a grown woman I have realized that I still have the same needs as the little girl who used to swim and dive. But now, not only am I blessed to still have my earthly father but I have a Heavenly Father who sees me and is never too busy to stop looking at me! His word tells me I am the apple of his eye, He will counsel me with his loving eye upon me and will watch over my coming and going both now and forevermore.

Are you in need of knowing that God sees you, he cares for you, has his eye upon you and is watching over you?

Will you look up the verses below and meditate on His promises and find comfort in the fact that the same God who created the universe will never take His Eyes off of you both Now and Forever!
